food myths and facts



Myth: Bread and potatoes are fattening.

Fact: Starchy foods like bread, potatoes and pasta are an important part of a healthy diet - and they keep you full for longer. It’s only when we add fat to them (like oil and butter) that they become fattening. Then the calorie count goes right up. Starchy carbs are not at all fattening or bad for weight loss and are an important source, and the main source, of energy for your body.
