Labour day(not giving birth)

to all who are working and going to be:
Happy Labour Day!!

some random facts:

Aussie Labour Day
Celebrating the Australian labour movement, the Labour Day public holiday is fixed by the various state and territory governments, and so varies considerably. It is the first Monday in October in the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales and South Australia. In both Victoria and Tasmania, it is the second Monday in March (though the latter calls it Eight Hours Day). In Western Australia, Labour Day is the first Monday in March. In both Queensland and the Northern Territory, it is the first Monday in May.

Jamaica
Before 1961, May 24 was celebrated in Jamaica as Empire Day in honour of the birthday of Queen Victoria and her emancipation of slaves in Jamaica.[3] As its name suggests, the day was used to celebrate the British Empire, complete with flag-raising ceremonies and the singing of patriotic songs. In 1961, Jamaican Chief Minister Norman Washington Manley proposed the replacement of Empire Day with Labour Day, a celebration in commemoration of May 23, 1938, when Alexander Bustamante led a labour rebellion leading to Jamaican independence.

Malaysia
In Malaysia, Labour Day or in Malay, "Hari Buruh" is on 1 May every year. It is an official public holiday.

New Zealand
In New Zealand, Labour Day is a public holiday held on the fourth Monday in October. Its origins are traced back to the eight-hour working day movement that arose in the newly founded Wellington colony in 1840, primarily because of carpenter Samuel Parnell's refusal to work more than eight hours a day. He encouraged other tradesmen also to work for only eight hours a day and in October 1840, a workers' meeting passed a resolution supporting the idea. On October 28, 1890, the 50th anniversary of the eight-hour day was commemorated with a parade. The event was then celebrated annually in late October as either Labour Day or Eight-Hour Demonstration Day. In 1899 government legislated that the day be a public holiday from 1900. The day was celebrated on different days in different provinces. This led to ship owners complaining that seamen were taking excessive holidays by having one Labour Day in one port then another in their next port. In 1910 the government stipulated that the holiday would be observed on the same day throughout the nation.

Syria
In Syria, Labour Day is celebrated on the first day of May, coinciding with May Day. Labour Day is an official national holiday in Syria. In Egypt, It is celebrated on the first day of May as well. It is an official national holiday.

United States
In the United States, Labor Day is a federal holiday observed on the first Monday of September. It is customarily viewed as the end of the summer vacation season. Many schools open for the year on the day after Labor Day.

the baby bat incident

I was minding my own business as I was preparing for the Bersih 3.0 entry on my blog, when out of no where came this baby bat. It was hairy all over and it was literally crawling on the floor. The hair on the back of my neck stood up and I was clueless for a bit on how to get rid with it.

*This was not the real bat, but it looks the same, for illustration purposes only*

I was stunt for quite some time, I even employed some ridiculously funny ways to get rid of it.
  • First I had an unused shoe box and was trapping it underneath. I was hoping the little critter would latch itself onto the box and I could close the lid and go outside and let it free, but it had other plans. *FAILED ATTEMPT*

  • It crawled onto  a backpack that was on the floor and I was hoping that it would crawled into it and I could just let it loose by shaking the baby out from the backpack of the balcony, but it decided to latched itself on the side of the backpack at a nook. *Attempt failed*

  • Try to coaxed that baby bat out of the nook and hoping that it would fall into the shoe box  that I put close to it but it was smart, it didn't want to let go.
  • Had a time out with the bat. After that it decided to escaped and crawl back on the floor again. The dustpan and the broom was nearby. I gently sweep it to the dustpan and took it out to the balcony. It crawled onto the railing and I was to disgusted by it that I didn't even bother to say goodbye.
I could have save a ton of time by using the last way to get  rid of it. I really hope it is fine, but from the looks of it, either is dazed and confused by the bright light of my room or part of it's wing is fractured. It didn't even try to fly around when I was trying to get it into the box or when it was on the dustpan.

food review

I got to eat this after an  introduction from a friend, and didn't stop since. What I like about this is that is diverts from the normal soy sauce base noodle dishes. All you can taste is a clean flavorful gravy and very generous amount of char siew and green leafy vegetables.

Movie review: The Avengers

 the first show at 12.05

the sizable crown gathering at about 11.30pm yesterday.

I don't know what possess me to get the 12.05 am show. Maybe its the fanboy in me or I am just following the hype. As  you all know the Avenger  is a team assembled by Nick Fury to fend of evil forces that no man can withhold on earth. Loki the half brother of Thor decided to seek revenge and summon an army to destroy earth and reign as the supreme being on earth.
All of the superhero movies so far have a cliche plot, but what I really like about this movie is that mostly all the characters have  back stories, you get to know them even more. There are time when it gets quite draggy and tired, but it gives depth to the character-it's not just a big explosion, and big set pieces involving battle sequences.
Apart from that, the comic timing was excellent, providing relief to the already tense problems the heroes are facing. The icing on the cake goes to the hulk a.k.a Bruce Banner for being the funniest. Minus points  goes to the way the superhero end the war. Why didn't Loki give specific instructions not to build a safety mechanism. Seem so highly illogical looking at the circumstances of things and sadly Hawkeye is seriously underused in the movie.
Well put that one flaw aside, The Avenger is an awesome must see movie this year. I kid you not peeps.

Water trick

42 years, and how are we doing?

Saw this interesting facts chart about the Health of the Malaysian Economy in a span of 42 years posted by a friend of mine.

*click on picture for a bigger resolution*

Looks impressive huh?
From different perspective of things, let's look and how other people have to say about the findings

to be noted: all word bold are the  full names of those involved in the conversation. It is for privacy purposes and if you by any means know them please don't give them a hard time by harassing them.

What are you're opinion on this matter? What constitute a good economic report/progress?
Personally I think, 10 point of references to gauge an economic performance of a country is seriously not enough. If the government is transparent enough, they ought to show us more. It looks manipulated do you think so or maybe I am wrong? What do you think? Please comment on the comment section below this post.

I was like, "  What???!!!!? Another Bella movie??".

I was imagining what the scenes would be like, and it goes something like this:

Who would have won?

if tony stark a.k.a Iron Man and Thor is on a duel? Who would have won the duel? and why.

Movie Review: Battleship

Based on the classic Hasbro naval combat game, Battleship is the story of an international fleet of ships who come across an alien armada whilst on a Naval war games exercise. An intense battle ensues over sea, land and air. What do they aliens - known as 'The Regents' - want?
I think its the trend now is to make bigger special effect laden movies. In the midst of doing so plausibility and fluidity of a movie is often neglected. There is not much of a difference for a big budget movie such as this.Taylor Kitsch as the rebel in this movie and in entrusted with leading the naval fleet after his older brother played by Alexander Skarsgard died while trying to destroy the mother alien ship.
The movie is loud and brash and with some serious issue of laughable scenarios. I will not spoil the movie for you but if you go watched it you will roll your eye quite a few times.
The movie is loud and brash, never holds back when it comes to entertaining movie goers. A typical summer pop corn movie.

Park the car at the curb

This lady driver stop by and decided to leave her car on the curb, which obviously she shouldn't be doing because there is a yellow line there. I get it if she wants to get something in a hurry and there  is another driver in there to move the car in case there is someone coming with the summons, but she didn't because after waiting for the bus for a good 40 minutes or so, the car is still there.

On the website, her picture are altered with funny  so called " conversations" between her with other important figures in entertaiment, politics etc. Some seriously funny s***.
