By tara stilles

10 warning signs that you may be addicted to Facebook

1. Facebook is your home page.

2. You update your status more than twice a day.

3. You have over 500 "friends" half of whom you've never actually met.

4. As soon as you step away from your computer you're on FB on your phone.

5. You are a FB stalker. You qualify as a FB stalker if you

a) click on someone's profile more than once a day even if they haven't messaged or tagged you in a photo.

b) have dragged and dropped more than 3 FB photos (not from your own profile)

c) actually go to a place mentioned on someone's page in hopes of seeing them in real life...creepy!

6. You change your profile picture more than a 12-year old girl.

7. You have checked your FB page while reading this article.

8. You clean up your "wall" so it looks like you spend less time on FB.

9. You are a member of more than 10 groups and respond to every event invitation "attending" even if you have no intention of going.

10. You change your relationship status just to mess with people.

that food craving story

I had this insane craving for some bowl of laksa last Thursday during caregroup. What to do?? had to settled for satay celup at Ong Kim Wee( did I got the  name of the street right??) and Mcdonalds after that. Due to the economic recession, Mcdonalds have employ their great marketing strategy by downsizing their products for examples their MCflurry to a smaller cup while jacking up the price. Even their sundae cone has gone up from RM1.05 to RM1.20 (that is a lot okay).

from left: your now downsize coke, middle: your now downside mcflurry, and your sundae cone worth RM1.20 opposed to the RM1.05

Okay back to the topic at hand. Sometimes the cravings for a certain food will hit your stomach and appetite so bad that you keep thinking about it all day long. I know I did. Nevertheless I was a happy man as I got to eat an awesome bowl of laksa at Jiki @ Redantz last Friday. ohhhh man the relieve and the euphoria of sipping and slurping that noodle down your tastebuds to your trakea to your stomach. Amazing feeling indeed.

What  is your food craving stories. You can share it here. I would love to hear your food craving stories.

Bali Trip-Day 3

30th January 2009

To the beach

Not so nice sand but nice view

Next we head  to the ancient Mengawi Royal Family's Taman Ayun Temple. It's a place where the once royal family of Bali come to worship their God. It's a super huge garden complex from the looks of it.

Not long after that, we went to lunch, and boy was the view spectacular.

Literally our restaurant was perched at the foothills overlooking the mountain as you can see in this particular picture

Those are not chalets or houses, it is a place where you can go and meditate.

Next up the famous Beratan Lake Temple

My sister doing the pose.

The sampans that you can use to paddle around the lake.We didn't go(Scary though because there are not lifejackets)

The boat

the parents

The Beratan mountain overlooking the temple

Nice orchid

Along the way, we saw at artist drawing a potrait of a little girl. (How adorable is that little girl)

Nice fig trees along the pathway

Next up is Tanah Lot Temple

Tanah Lot temple which is perched on a rocky outcrop facing the sea, only accessible during lowtide.

Some crazy surfer dude jumping of the rock cliff

When actually he can take the steep stairs down to the beach

the majestic cliff of the west coast of Bali

More and more temples and sites to be scene

Would love to, but I bet it's expensive and the weather is damn hot to eat under.

The next day we woke up very early to catch our flight to Kuala Lumpur at 6am in the morning.

So all in all Bali is an awesome place to be at, except for the mad traffic. The trip was spent mostly on the road.Food is easy to consume, not like their counterparts in Thailand. Other than that, it was enjoyable and fun at the same time. I would definately want to go back to Bali again. (This time for a massage)

That ends my entry on my recent Bali trip

Bali Day 2

29th January 2009

We woke up as early as 8am to catch the van, which will then lead us to a place famous in Bali for it's traditional Barong and Kris dances

a little fact about Barong and Kris dance:
the Barong play represents an internal battle fight between good and evil spirit.
The Barong is a mythical animal who represent the good spirit. The rangda represents the evil counterpart. Balinese people believe good and evil coexist in this world. That is why the following story has no obvious winner.

the Temple area at the foreground

A  statue

A very expressive and gentle Balines dancer potraying the scene in the dance

The Rangda

next we head to the a batik factory

The tools and ingredients . (wax and chanting)

in progress

Putting wax on the fabric

Old school songket weaver machine

Indeed it was a tidious job of designing and waxing the fabric and also the coloring

After that we are on our way to Celuk famous for its gold and silver works.

Extremely delicate work not for the fainthearted and the impatience ones

Upclose

Family in front of the extrance to the shop inside

the mad detail on this piece of work is astounding

This is worth Rp290000

After that we were driven to the village of MAS, to witnessed the artwork painting of the people there and also beautiful handcrafted woodwork.

Paddy field

Artist at work

woodcarver at work

the ladies at work

Next up Kintamani Village which is perched on the rim of the Batur volcanic Basin. We all went there for lunch actually and to enjoy the spectacular volcanic mountain

The view  of the Batur Volcano from the restaurant where we had our lunch. For your information, it is still active as of today.

Before we head back to our hotel, our tourguide brought us to a place where coffee production is done in Bali.

still the traditional way of roasting coffee beans.

Oh, and we tried luwak coffee too.

All is free except the yellow cup one. That is the cup of luwak coffee(Rp 30000)

That all for day 2. Stay tuned for the last and final day of my Bali trip
