Jason Mraz: Tour is a four letter word 2012

Thanks Mix.fm for giving me the pair of free tickets.

Mr Fad my concert partner in crime.

The crowd before the show.

#12 Muzik Jason Mraz Pukau Peminat Di Stadium Merdeka

#04 Muzik Jason Mraz Pukau Peminat Di Stadium Merdeka

This is my second concert. Thanks to Mix.fm for giving out tickets for show. This is Jason Mraz second tour after his first back in 2009 at Stadium Negara.
Overall it was a show with a longer set of song list. A mix of songs from Waiting for my rocket to come, Mr.A-z, We Sing, We Dance, We Steal things and his current album Love is a four letter Word we performed throughout the 2 hour plus show.
One thing I noticed that  was missing from the show is Toca Rivera, the fun loving, burly bongo player, who usually backs up Jason on most of his shows. Because of that I felt that the energy was a little less than the previous show which had Toca in it.( It's rumoured that he is doing his own project at the moment(
Overall, Jason is a class act, with a consistent and strong vocals throughout his set-list of songs. The sound system employed that day also is much better then the one when he performed at Stadium Negara. He sounded more clearer. What I love about him is his fun loving energy, and that night he didn't disappoint me and the rest that was there that night.

Highlight of the show:
  • Everyone giving high fives and low ones during dynamo of volition
  • The sing a long to You and I both, The Remedy( I won't worry), and I'm Yours.
  • A southern style preaching from Jason about love
  • Sang operatically on Mr Curiosity. His voice was seriously insane when he sang it.
  • Asking kids to thank their fathers for buying them tickets to watch his song. Dedicate the song Frank D. Fixer to all dads. Poignant moment.

Concert Review: The Black Star Tour 2012

Avril Lavigne: the Black Star Tour
Venue: Stadium Merdeka
Time: 8.30pm
Date: 18th February 2012

Brought by JS Concert Production and sponsored by Tune Talk Mobile, is  the last leg of her Black Star Tour. The concert's proceeding started out with the booming beat from a DJ Nandine Ann Thomas.
After tunes of the DJ came into past, she screamed, " Are you ready for Avril Lavigne??!!????". That is when the crowd went euphoric and shouted like crazy.
She open the show  an about  8.40pm with the song Blackstar and What the Hell from her newest album Goodbye Lullaby. After that comes strings of old hits from here previous albums such as Sk8er Boi and He wasn't. Avril brings things down a notch with a haunting song from the Tim Burton movie Alice in Wonderland , aptly named Alice. She soared throughout the song it was a commendable effort from her.
More on more songs were belted out such as When you're gone, Wish you were here, Girlfriend, Happy Ending, I'am with you
Before Avril closes the show with Complicated, she and her band-mates decided to bring fun into the repertoire by switching music instruments. That is when Avril guitarist decided to sing Foster the Kids, Pumped Up Kicks to the delight of the audience.
After about an hour and a half the show came to an end. Avril is not one of the best vocalist on stage, but that is understandable from the types of song she carries to her fans. One gripe I have about her performance is the lack of showmanship. Throughout the almost 1 hour and 30 minutes of performance. She rarely engages with the crowd. Even though she repeats twice that, " This will be a happy moment for us (band mates), because Kuala Lumpur will be the last stop of the Black Star Tour".
What she really meant by that is that I better finished the songs quick and catch the next plane home. The show was void of emotion and interaction from her. She could have used the venue to her advantage by being flirty or engaging in some humorous one on one chatter with her fans, which she clearly didn't do.
I came home feeling divided about her concert. Her voice was just good but not spectacular and her showmanship gets a thumbs down from me. Nothing for me to feel emotionally connected or wanting more after watching that. It's just that bad.
I love her song, but I am on the fence with this concert review.

P.S: A  video will be up soon. Stay tune.

Crazy Love Tour 2011: the videos Part 2

Hello back with another video of Michael Buble's Crazy Love Tour in Melawati Stadium back in March. Here is a video of him singing a Billy Vera and the Beaters classic At this moment.
Emotionally poignant and sad, it a story of a letting go of the love that you once love knowing that you have shared something special with that someone. Should you be bitter about it or let it go?
I think it is one of the saddest love songs of the history of sad love songs, but strangely this is one of my favourite.
Enjoy the video peeps!!

the man in the spotlight

He is such a comsummate performer that not only engages the crowd with a performance, but also is so highly skilled in making the crowd feel at home with his witty jokes and cheekiness. LoL.
I would safely say that  it is one of the greatest show on earth.

one thing that is missing from the setlist is Fever. =(

Mr A-z concert review

Mr A-z himself.

the crazy bunch.(special shoutout and thanks to samantha for getting us the tickets)

I was rather intriqued by the demography of the crowd that night. I saw a daddy bringing or rather should I say accompanying his kids to the concert that night. A lot of reviews from bloggers state that the sound weren't that good at stadium negara, but who cares, he did well to cover the lack in sound quality.

Plus points about the concert:
He vocal prowness was top notch.( no surprise there)

Plus points for really engaging the crowd in singing his songs and making interaction

the crowd was rather receptive(except for this guy that was next to me that was totally stone throughout the whole concert. no shouting, no cheering,no waving of hands, nothing)

Not so good things about the concert:

The venue sucks. I thought I was going to die from the humid conditions of the stadium.
That is about it. I will definately go to his concert again if he comes. I can see that he is really passionate about giving his best to his fans on stage. I was really blown away by his awesome showmanship.
