Cinema alone time

When people ask me out for a movie, I usually tell them that I had watched the movie before. When they ask me who I watched the movie with, I usually reply to them, " I usually watched a movie alone".

To which they replied, " Why so anti social one???".

Some reasons why watching movies at the cinema alone is better then with some company of friends.
  • watching with a group can be taxing at times. They will come a time when choosing a movie can be a hassle. So you will ended watching the movie even though you don't want to watch the movie at the first place, because it was chosen by the majority in the group. It sucks.
  • when you watched a movie alone. You get the awesome privilege of watching premier screening of a movie.
  • You wouldn't need to cancel a watching a show versus when in a group. E.g. You have a to cancel watching a movie when you get there because it is known after that there is no more seats left for a big group of people.

Bus woes

I am not impressed at the current transport situation in Malacca now. Even though the government decided to take over the establishment with new air conditioned buses, but the cons tops the pros.
Pros:
  1. It's super clean
  2. It's air conditioned

Cons:
  1. The buses are not punctual. At some cases, the waiting can vary from 10 minutes, or 30 minutes, or 1 and half hours. The longest I've waited was almost 2 hours and that was when two buses passes me at the bus stop even though I was putting myself out there for them to see for them to come to a halt for me to board on them.
  2. The bus drivers here are highly underpaid
  3. With reason number two, I think that is why Malaccan bus drivers are the worst kind of drivers so far I have witnessed.
  • Related article to support why most Malaccan bus drivers are rude and irresponsible for their passagers: We are not dumb, You are!
Riding the Malacca public is not for the faint hearted. I know I have wasted lots of precious time till I am really numb about it.

Feed me mommy!!! Feed me

*observation mode*
Was slurping away my bowl of curry laksa a.k.a rice vermicelli in a bowl of curry broth. I was sitting down minding my own business at a side stall when a family came by and join in the eating experience. there was the husband, there was the wife, the son and the baby(gender unknown), the mother in laws and the maid.

*a few minutes later*
Their order came, they starting eating and everyone started devouring their meals. Okay, maybe except for the baby. Their son was clearly strong enough to eat by his own (He looks like his 4 or 5 years old). The maid was the one that fed him. The mom didn't do any meal to meal interaction with the kid.

*I am assuming that*
She either tired from working whole day or she that trophy wife that is to stuck up to take care of the kids that the maid has to to all the work all the time.

I bet the son was crying inside screaming, " feed me mom!!! feed me!!!".

and another thing if the mom is so lazy to drag her lazy hands to feed her child,  I think the kid should be taught how to start to feed himself. I don't get it when a kid that is able to start feeding himself or herself still needs to be spoon fed. I seriously don't get it. It's the same thing also with kids still needing to go about in a  baby's stroller when clearly they do not need to?

Single awareness day

This entry is written in result of the overly hyped and cliche celebration of Valentine's day. Why all the hype when you can celebrate and appreciate your love ones everyday. I think there is two possible reason for this. Valentine's Day is a moneymaking suck money out your pocket day and it's a lazy excuse for those not committed to show love any other day to make it a point they do care on this day (what a douchebag). Are we living in a superficial society that cracks under pressure. Do we need to show love outwardly only with showers of gifts that will put wallets. When those  are not celebrating this day, are we considered emotionally detached homosapiens with conditional love? Is it because out of stinginess. The answer is NO. Valentines day is not only on this day but unconditional and relentless selfless act of love towards everyone you know and cherish on any given day.

Single Awareness day is awesome too don't you think so?

wave of failure

Taken from Yahoo News Malaysia.

Okay let me tell you what does the article says:
Apparently there is one novel which is very popular among the Malay reader here in Malaysia which is written by Malaysian novelist Fauziah  Ashari title , "Ombak Rindu". The book got pick up and is adapted into a movie  by Tarantella Production Sdn Bhd and has so far has grossed RM4 million in 4 days. The problem not only lies on the poor movie adaption but how the writer of the novel got left out during production of the film. She was not giving a proper say on what should be done with the movie. She was not even paid handsomely for her books even though the movie collected a substantial amount of money at the boxoffice. She said  can't do much about it because she signed a deal earlier on even before the movie was made.
She goes on further to say that other that the organization should be more transparent in  handling financial issues  and to be fair and just to uphold the rights of everyone that is involve. She gave an example that producers from the west have given liberty and rights to novelist on par with other big names in the industry. This she says should be followed.

conclusion:

  • She totally got ripped and not been paid for what she truly deserves. I think whatever  ideas that you have you shouldn't be giving it to someone so freely. At the end of the day is your work, your idea and creation.
  • When there is someone who wants to use your work, please get strong legal aid,  because apparently this woman is stupid enough to be misled by  greedy people such as the director and the entertainment company.
  • Don't  just be in the entertainment and arts industry just because you want to be famous. Be ready to fight fight for it once people are trying to used them for their personal selfish gain, because honestly it's your work not theirs.

Do you know that:
Tan Sri P Ramlee has not been receiving alot royalties from most of his work which includes more the 60 films and 360 songs alltogether? The Shaw Brothers Studios has most of the rights to the late P. Ramlee's work

no children allowed in this area

Okay to all mummies and daddies out there. Please don't bring your toddlers/babies/devil spawns in the cinema hall.
For example, when I was at the cinema the other day watching  The adventure of Tintin and lo and behold there were a bunch of kids coming down the aisle at the side shouting, "Where are the seats, where are the seats!!!" as their parent came strutting down the aisle minutes later. Not only are they late, but they took even more time looking for their seats, they also have to make a ruckus out of it. Disturbing the peace of other patrons.
Besides that, there were the husband and wife also with their toddler kid.OMG!! their toddler was literally crying.
There is one thing also that I don't understand. Why on earth do some parents bring their kids to watch movies that are violent or not kid related. Do you notice that????
Either stay at home with your kids or asked someone to take care of your kids so that you can do whatever is there outside.
So please avoid bringing you kids/babies/devil spawns. PLEASE consider those poor souls that paid so much for a movies ticket. Please stay at home and take care of your kids or maybe bring them for a more proactive  activities such as picnic or play with them or something.
Very annoying indeed.

they will call and ask......

I often share links and stuff on facebook and now they have a new interface for sharing links. One of the capabilities is sharing your location to all your friends.

You can add photos, ask some questions, share the link and also share your location to the rest of your social networking friends

If you do not know what am I talking about, look at the circled words, in the above picture

Why the heck do you need to tell your current location on social  networking websites. In my opinion it is  an intrusion of privacy and if you are afraid of everyone not knowing where you are, don't worry, they will give you a call and ask * face palms and shakes own head*

the old ones do it too

Aiyoh!!! Funny thing is how to respect the older folks when they always do something bad.

Things I observe and I myself should take note not to do:

  • Two well aged aunties perhaps in their forties or fifties try to get into the front of a queue to check in the luggage at an airport.
  • they don't queue up at the hospital
  • they don't queue up at he buffet table. Not only that, they decided to raid the buffet table and left no food for other diners.
  • decided to cut the queue at the wash area of a restaurant. Sorry, looks petty, but its a big deal for me...
Bad example/role models for the kids. *sigh* How are supposed to respect the old folks huh?

so long

I had one of those shopping moments at Jusco, and something has irritated me for a very long time. This involves the supermarket. Okay so here is the deal, you buy two items for that day and you walk to the checking counter only to get a receipt which is  likea kilometer long. I mean it is wasting and its annoying to stuff that thing in your wallets or in your groceries. Its so annoying. OKay now that is all for today

P.S: I will show one receipt as to illustrate my annoyance about this matter in the future.

tax the rich!!!

With all the uncertainty of the US economy, I think there is one way to curb the debt. Besides cutting down on military spending( look at what Bush left for Obama), I think imposing tax or passing a legislation for rich people especially the billionaires is a good way to help their economy. After all America is a country of dreams and I bet the money they just gave back will be earned back in no time. But who am I kidding right?

Get a life dude

I friend talk to me recently, and she told me that someone got  hold of her pictures and created a Facebook account under the same pictures, masquerading as my friend and being an imposter. Bunch of no-life losers......

good turn bad

My case study of things turn from good to bad today is none other than movie director/producer M. Night. Shyamalan.

I always admired movie directors that can give compelling stories for viewers to watched. When a viewer watches a movie theater, the movie should be able to imprint a long positive lasting impression on our emotions, and psyche.

The turning point of his movie making career is when he directed the supernatural, jaw dropping, ending twisting The Sixth Sense. It was the start of other films to employ the twist ending technique( but most failed). It gave Haley Joel Osment an oscar nomination for Best actor in a supporting role.

More mind bending supernatural themed movies came after that, namely Unbreakable and Signs. It solidifies M. Night.Shyamalan as a bonafide movie director.

I even put him into my heart as one of my favourite movie directors of all time. I mean who does not like his mysterious, twisted ending in all the movies that he directs. I know I did.

When all things are that good, there must be a low point in a movie directors portfolio. I thought The Village was a mediocre movie. The twist ending at the movie is getting a tad to stale, but it was watchable nonetheless. The movie that I don't like the most was Lady in the water. The  movie was tacky, and cheesy
Sadly everything went even further into the drain as he came out again with another self conscious environmental movie about revenge seeking plants titled The Happening

The twist ending plots in his movies are getting old. He is not one of my favourite directors any more. Do something new Mr Shyamalan.

airport glum

Chief Minister of Melaka Ali Rustam, it finally took you this long to admit huh?

I don't give a damn whose fault is it, but please do some long term research before embarking on an upgrading adventure. Ohhh like lets say an airport?
If you did that properly, I wouldn't have to move my sorry ass in a taxi/car/ bus to the airport( LCCT/ KLIA) all the time, when I want to fly back to Kuching.
Can execute but cannot plan properly. As usual.....
